After being decimated 10-1 the night before by the Montreal Canadiens, you had to know the Detroit Red Wings were going to be out for retribution; and they didn't disappoint. At least not their own fans.
Last night at Little Caesar's Arena in Detroit, the Wings handed the Winnipeg Jets their seventh loss in regulation, 5-1
Patrik Laine continues to come back from his own self-described "slump" as he scored the only marker for the Jets on this night, his 14th of the season, tying him for the team lead in goals with Mark Scheifele.
Going one for six on the power-play is not going to help produce goals. Not in this league. And the Jets are supposed to be one of the most proficient in that department this season. Didn't look that way last night. If it wasn't for Connor Hellebuyck, it would have been worse.
Hopefully, the Jets can get back on track Thursday in Sunrise, Florida, when they face the Luongo-less Panthers.
