Personally, I don't think so. At least not yet. Paul Maurice does some things that make me scratch my head, like pulling the goalie in a tied game with two full minutes (or more left on the clock.) And how has he not gotten through to his players on the finer points of a penalty-kill? It's simple. When you get possession of the puck, you get it out of your zone. You do not pass it to a teammate in front of the net. Or better yet, you do not put into your own net as the Jets have done twice this season.
However, this is the man that took the Carolina Hurricanes to the Stanley Cup final in 2002. Yeah, that is a while ago, but he still did it. He had one or two pieces to his puzzle then that the Jets don't have now, but the potter is the same if the clay may be a little different.
