The Winnipeg Jets gave a somewhat inspired game tonight as they shut-out the Calgary Flames 2-0, in Heritage Classic jerseys and all at the MTS Centre.
Connor Hellebuyck recorded his third shutout of the season as Dustin Byfuglien and captain Blake Wheeler scored for the Jets.
Drew Stafford seemed to fit right into the top line with Mark Scheifele and Nikolaj Ehlers. Perhaps I was a little premature in my assessment of his contribution on the line, Let's hope I continue to be wrong about him.
Scheifele, for his part, showed why the Jets brass named him an alternate captain, as he once again defended his teammates by throwing some gloves into the face of a guilty Flame after a scrum beside Hellebyuck.
Defenceman Josh Morrisey was very noticeable tonight, as he had four blocked shots and two shots on goal.
