Laine Earns Points For Team Central In Skills Competition

Winnipeg Jets rookie sensation, Patrik Laine is in Los Angeles this weekend for the annual NHL All-Star festivities (as I stated in a recent post, he should have been joined by teammate Mark Scheifele) and participated in Saturday's skills competition, in the hardest shot and accuracy contests.

In the hardest shot; Laine posted a 101.7 mph score and held the lead until the Montreal Canadiens Shea Weber surpassed him with a 102.8 mph blast.

In the fastest skater contest, Laine beat the Vancouver Canucks' Bo Horvat with a time of 13.420 seconds, to Horvat's 13.430 seconds.

Unfortunately, the Central division finished fourth in the overall competition.

All in all, Laine said he enjoyed the experience and is looking forward to being a factor in the All-Star game on Sunday.
