Jets Impress With Win Over Lightning

It got a little scary at the end, with the Jets allowing a late empty-net, six-on-four power-play goal by the Bolts, not to mention blowing a 4-1 lead by the middle of the third period, but Winnipeg managed to grab two points in Tampa with a 6-4 win to improve to 18-19-3 on the season.  Still not in a playoff spot, but still pretty close.

Nikolaj Ehlers was the star of the game , as he knotted two goals, including one on a penalty shot that saw the young Dane go straight up main street on Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy.  It's nice to know that NHL referees realize the Jets are an actual NHL club and deserve some justice once in a while as well.  Ehlers also added an assist.

Patrik Laine finally scored his 20th of the season (albeit into an empty net) along with two assists, including a beauty re-direct by Mark Scheifele, and a nice little bonus to go along with it.  It's a shame Laine didn't reach 20 goals before fellow rookie and presumed Maple Leafs messiah, Auston Matthews.
